Blanket of snow...

There is something very quiet about snow...
it seems to muffle
the sounds of the cars on the road
the neighbors snow blowers and barking dogs -
Snow covers up all the brown that fall did not take with it when it left
Snow lit by light has more magnificence that any diamond
Snow also makes for interesting driving...
Snow hides lots of things even black ice
So becareful out there

Winter is here

its been snowing on and off for over a week - now,
not amounting to much because the ground isn't frozen -
BUT they are saying we could see 10" or more by morning
If the old indian addage
"little snow, big snow"
holds true, they just might be right!!
We live here -
so its time to make the most of it and just enjoy it -
Actually I am anxious for there to be enough
to strap on the snowshoes...
We now live back in awesome snowshoe country!!
I never lack for company because
if our granddog Blaze happens to hear the rustle of my jacket
he is ready to go... NOW!
We have even been known to take the goats with us -
they are always underfoot, literally!

We keep busy... work keeps coming in ~ we keep counting our blessings~

We have room for company so if you feel the need for a snow fix

Come on up to the Tundra -

we have extra beds and extra shovels ;-)

Dirty Laundry

DIRTY WASH

Not that we hang our laundry outdoors all that much anymore,
but still there is a good lesson in this little story.........

A young couple moves into a new neighborhood.

The next morning while they are eating breakfast, the young
woman sees her neighbor hanging the wash outside.

'That laundry is not very clean', she said.
'She doesn't know how to wash correctly.
Perhaps she needs better laundry soap'

Her husband looked on, but remained silent.

Every time her neighbor would hang her wash to dry,
the young woman would make the same comments.

About one month later, the woman was surprised
to see a nice clean wash on the line and said to her husband:
'Look, she has learned how to wash correctly.
I wonder who taught her this?'

The husband said, 'I got up early this morning
and cleaned our windows.'

And so it is with life.

What we see when watching others depends on the purity
of the window through which we look.

26 Years and Counting...

From way back when

Milford, New Hampshire 1982

Now

I wanna make you smile whenever you're sad

Carry you around when your arthritis is bad

All I wanna do is grow old with you

Ill get your medicine when your tummy aches

Build you a fire if the furnace breaks

Oh it's so nice, growing old with you

Ill miss you Ill kiss you

Give you my coat when you are cold...

(Adam Sandler - Wedding singer)

Tidbits on making it work(from us and others);

Always show and say "I love you" never assume that the other - just knows it! Keep each other as your best friend - always have date nights at least once a week - the honeymoon never has to stop(even after kids) be open and honest , Put God first, each other second & EVERYTHING else third-don't let your kids come between you -you were a couple first!- - always hold hands-even in the grocery store- ride along to the dump, garage, and even to the parts store- I am sure there are more ideas- but never give up those precious memories of how you fell in love- keep it alive...it is the greatest life to be in love and to be loved...Always be willing to say "I'm sorry" (even if it is not your fault) Keep working at it every moment of every day the best is yet to come!!

Goodbye Indian Summer, Hello Old Man Winter

Yesterday the sky was dark and foreboding
This is what we awoke to
looks warm and inviting right ... not!
They are saying 2-6 inches by tomorrow am -
BRRRRRRRRRRRRR

A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 11 am ESTMonday. Snow showers will continue through much of tonight. Snow accumulations by daybreak Monday will vary widely across the advisory area... ranging from 2 to 6 inches. Highest amounts are expected inland from Lake Michigan especially in higher terrain areas.A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while driving.
