Spring? Winter?

Saturday was unseasonably warm and raining on and off
the fog rolling across the hills was
something movies are made out of...
... Into the mist
Today we had sun for a bit...
then it snowed a bit ...
Now its just a tween day
not quite nice and not quite nasty

18 more inches of snow over the weekend

Lots of drifts out there
My Trail Groomer
Poor Blaze it was Belly Deep

There is a kids song by Raffi... Every thing grows and grows...
But I keep singing... Every Day snows and snows...
I kept myself in the house long enuff today to
conquer Mt. Washmore, and Paperwork Valley
Then I couldn't take it any longer
So off Blaze and I went in what I thought was only about 10"
of new snow... wow was I ever wrong - I went about a 1/2
mile and radioed my blueeyed groomer to please get the snowmobile
out and make us a trail... He did... THANKS HONEY!!!
We did not stay on the trail the whole time as there is just too many
places to explore out there - 3 hours later Blaze and I came home -
I was invigorated ... Blaze has been sleeping ever since ;-)
Someone asked me the other day what is my motivation...
My motivation is health - I have Fibromyalgia
and if I keep moving and eat healthy I can keep the symptoms under control -
It works well for me as I cannot take the drugs they prescribe for it!

Gorgeous Cold -2 Winters Day

As I sit here eating a piece of
Grand Traverse Peninsula Apple Pie
w/ Leelanau Raclette cheese
(Grandpa Earle always said;
"apple pie without cheese is like a hug without a squeeze")
and gaze out at the snow, sunshine
covered hills
I am amazed again at how
incredibly beautiful it is out there!!
From the sparkling diamonds in the snow
to the sledding hill out front just begging for riders?
So with much anticipation
I bundle up
strap on the snow shoes
and off I go...

Picture Directions for Tom, Victor and Albert too

When you are out for a ride
go past the front of the Timberlee Lodge
like you are heading to the HayLoft
When you come to these signs turn right

This will be your view once you turn right

You will then see these trees and these signs
the trail is usually packed down pretty good
keep following the trail it will veer right
then left thru a small valley
Once you get thru the valley the trail will straighten out
Then you will see these signs a bit in the distance... The yellow sign we interepet to be
Yes snowmobilers WELCOME but
please respect the property
you are riding on!!!
Once you pass thru the fence posts you will see a stand
of trees on your left - the trail starts to head left then
once you get around the trees you will see our house
straight ahead...

There it is... come on in we love company

You will pass the welcoming committee on the right

By the Light of the Sivery Moon...

For the first time in over a month we had a sunny day...
then later in the afternoon the moon appeared...

So, last night was a beautiful full moon
Bruce worked late and then after dinner I said lets go snowshoeing
Bruce went a bit relucatantly but after we got out there
he kept saying this is
"Unbelievable" ...
how deep the snow was and how incredibly beautiful it was
the perfect end to this romantic winters evening
was when we saw a falling star...
