Busy Farm Daze

Seems that the days run together for us this time of year -

We have been busy cutting down cedar trees for fence posts - we are going to need approx. 300

over the next few months - - As we have 2 pastures to complete this year - This past weekend we spent time building a calving pen so we can seperate the laboring mommas from the rest of the herd & an area where the babies cannot get thru the fence - because for the first two weeks they are immune to the electric fence let me tell you its VERY entertaining when they get out!!

Bruce was a bit slow last week so that meant lots of time for farm projects!

But he has work again this week in the shop - so farm projects will have to wait till evening!

I have been landscaping & axiously awaiting for to STAY WARM -- One day its 70 & the next

its 50 - - Sunny though so no complaining!!

The lawn is ready to be mowed but the John Deere (1964) is ready for retirement I am afraid -

I may have to mow it by hand - ahh well keeps me young & skinny ;-))

Wellington is ready for Market - so we need to borrow a trailer so we can take him downstate

in a couple weeks - that will be rough but its what we got into this for - he will be our first beef!

4 more piggies should be arriving in about 3 weeks & we ordered 12 guinea hens

Wedding plans are moving right along - Krystal keeps checking things off her list!!

Jeremy is packing slowly - he should be moving up here to the farm in the next week or so!

Old Farmers Advice (thanks Brenda)

* Your fences need to be horse-high, pig-tight, and bull-strong.

"Should I stay or should I go"

That seems to be the theme of the Daffodils and Tulips

trying to bloom here in the North Country!!

Within the next couple of days the horse chess nut tree out front will look like the above!

Last week we had temps close to 80 & this week they are back down in the 40s-50s?

We would rather they were in the 80s ;-)) We are busy - -that is the beauty of "farming" in the spring there is no end to the projects - from scooping poop to landscaping and getting things all spiffy for the October wedding - from sun up to sun down and even in the rain we are outside!

Bruce keeps busy in the shop - and we are thankful for that!!

Jeremys move in date is looming closer - BUT he hates packing so therefore its taking him

longer than he would like!! He was looking at his future room last night and commented that

there are no dressers and closet - - I looked at him and being my whimsical self said...

"Do you use the ones you have now?" he chuckled a bit, but just a bit!!

Krystals wedding plans are moving along - we are working on "which" invitations -

We found a lady to marry them - whew -

Well the outdoors is calling - Hope all keep well -
