A Good Woman

Busy, Busy days here on the farm...
Bruce is completely buried in work...
Some have been asking ...
"Who takes care of the Farm when you are so busy..."
he replies
"I have a hired hand..."
That would be me - - ;-)) The pay is pretty good ;-))))
Anyhow - STILL not baby cows yet -
If she is really in labor - its a LONG ONE!!!
I have been doing chores & landscaping... all the flower
gardens are edged so its easier to mow around them and
LOTS less weed whipping to be done!
I am in the process of putting in two more gardens but
these will have all edible plants in them including
BlueBerry Trees - yes trees & bushes!!
Mowed everything this last week for the first time this year -
Its beautiful here, cooler than we would like but SUNNY
and perfect for working outside!!
Everywhere you look things are in bloom, Cherry Trees,
Pear Trees, Apple Trees, Apricot Trees , Trilliums, Violets,
Tulips, Daffys and Dandels!!
Hope this finds everyone well - -
Happy Mothers Day tomorrow
to you moms & moms to be!!
Take care
Bruce & Deb

Guinea Keats

This weekend we welcomed 7 baby Guinea Chicks - they are called Keats - They are peeping away!!! I don't have a brooder so created one - those old wash tubs still have MANY uses!! Any hour now we should be welcoming our first calf of 2007 ;-))
Never a dull moment here on the farm -
~ Come on up - beds are empty and the pitch forks are handy~

Cold Spring Days

"Calm before the storm"

Yesterday I was sure I was in the Highlands of Scotland...
It was cool & misty all day - the fog kept rolling in - -
While I was working outside
I could hear the ships out on Big Blue
blowing their fog horns -
Bruce spent all day in the shop (lots of work) ;-)
I spent all day working out in the pastures -
There are things that need to get done inspite of a drizly day!
Today it has finally cleared but the sun is very decieving
its COLD out there!!!
