This Roller Coaster called "Life"

We used to love roller coasters...
but as we get older they have lost thier thrill- -
Now all it means is stark fear &
a churning stomach...
This roller coaster we are on now
is... Life!
We just got an email from the company
that said they had
ALL KINDS OF WORK
for us saying.
there won't be any work
for a few weeks??!!
AND
the big check that they had gotten last week
the bank returned??!!
Not sure what all this means but do
Wonder if we can become a
Charitble contribution? (trying to smile ;-)))
On a bright note we are seeing a tiny bit of
SUN today ;-)
and Bill & Brad are coming for dinner!

Still on the map!!

"just waitin..."

Finally the wind has dyed down!!
Thinking of all those in the sunny south this morning ;
-0 Count your every little blessing -
whether it be that irritating grain of sand
in your shoe, the streaks of sun burn in all the wrong places
or the squint wrinkles from the sun glaring off the ocean ;-))))

CUZ up here in the North its STILL snowing ;-)))
We can hardly take in ...
Makes chores twice as much fun when
you get to shovel inside the barns and out -
and I don't mean manure -
I mean SNOW!! Its sneaks in to every open crevice -
last night I had to climb the fence and go in the barn
the back way & then shovel snow from
the inside out so I could get the door open!!??
Something wrong with that!!
An Elderly lady up here used to say -
"As the days lengthen the cold begins to strengthen"
So far all her little "Old Farmer" sayings are right on!
Bruces work in the shop is a bit delayed this morning
as he is on "drift removal" duty ...
He came in with numb fingers , toes
and ruldolph looking noes!
Congrats too all of Bruces cuzins that had
wee little cuzins!!

Sunday Snowstorm... (AGAIN)

View out our office window today
This Amarylilis Mom West
gave me at Thanksgiving time
its blooming for the 6th time since then
& the 7th bloom is on its way!!

View out the window toward the sugar shack!

Wow this weather...
Its blowing and snowing and minus 1
with wind chill of minus 23 degrees -
After we do the chores we are coming
right back in the house and staying there - -
They were not sure if they were going to cancel meeting...
but we knew we were NOT driving anywhere
for any reason today!!
They were predicting this so we got groceries, Friday!
Bruce was wishing this morning for a farm house
& barn like Nana and Grandpas - all attached together --
Then he started telling the tales of when they moved down
from Pittsburg & hauling cows in the Model T...
I borrowed Jeremys camera
and took some shots out our windows -
When we got out to the barn though
I was wishing I had taken it out there -
EVERYWHERE where snow could come in,
it had - there was a 3 foot drift
inside both the chicken coop door
and the pen where Annie & Bos & D live....
Any part of your body thats exposed
out there in NOT going to be happy!!

one of the birds above scared the whatus out of me - -

Tale of two Goats! (that Krystal left behind)

"Who me..."

Not much news to report in the North Country -
Just more of the same... snow (96" to date this season)
Patriots lost but a close game!!!
This morning I was out doing a bit of chores -
I was in the goat pen doing a bit of cleaning in there
and while my back was turned Diablo above...
got the door open
Next thing you know, Bosley and Annie
had joined him in the hall way....
he promptly pushed the lid off a tin garbage can
and knocked it over...
before I could get to them -
Annie the pot belly & Bosley and Diablo were
head first in the can eating chicken scratch!!
Oh for a camera... all you could see it two little
goat hineys and one little piggy tail!!!
I am still chuckling!
