Snow, Snow and SNOW

The hills last weekThese pictures were taken this morning...
We have had our share of snow this winter but
mother nature seems to think we needed ALOT more
close to 30 inches of fresh snow this past week (since Wednesday)-
After this brief bout of sunshine this morning we are
suppose to get more snow every day for the next few days...
It is the last week of February
Wonder how March will come in...

Spring No More!

Last week with the temps in the 50s
the melting snow - the smell of dirt -
even tips of green where lillys were peeking out...
it left one with a little longing for tulips and daffodils
But yesterday we awoke to 3 inches of new snow
Then during the night winter came back with a vengence
dumping close to 8 inches of additional snow
blowing drifting , bitter cold -
they say at least 5 more inches before this storm is over
Its better to have snow to play in -
than to have the bruglies for 2 more months!!

Whirlwind Week

Wow a week without a post...
Krystal and Jamie came home...
Inspite of temps in the 40s and 50s most of the week
We filled the week with
watching Ice Boats on the Bay
to tubing, toboganning, saucering
Snowboarding, hockey,
ski-dooing
singing with the band
climbing ice mountains on Lake Michigan
kissing sculptures in Traverse City
to watching ice bergs on the Leland river
We managed to squeeze in everything
Snow...

Sun, Sun and More Sun

Love this time of year when the days get longer
and the sun gets stronger!
Though it has been bitter cold the
sun has a warmth to it - now!!
We look forward to our Krystal and her Jamie
coming home this weekend - they are anxious
to play in the snow - we are anxious to have them home!
I am loving this winter...
THIS GOOD OLD FASHIONED WINTER...
We have had snow on the ground since early November
and though we have had a couple of rains -
we never lost our snow -
Its been perfect for winter activities
Some of us have been making the most of it!

45 MPH Wind Gusts across the Tundra

Its hard to capture the wind
Snowshoeing yesterday was beautiful yet
challenging
Winds like that create waves of snow...
literal white caps
There were times when it was hard to see in front of you Another incredible weekend
here in the North
Lots of snow fun!
